Latest company news about Why can't we blindly choose high-precision when choosing force sensors ?

Some design engineers first select a range of several tons when selecting models, and then point out that the accuracy should be precise to tens or even tens of grams. However, in general, this condition is not recommended to be met for the following reasons.

1. Cost factors:
For most engineering projects, cost is the primary pressure that limits the project.
However, a force sensor does not have a specified accuracy. For most conventional force sensors, an accuracy of one ten thousandth is already the limit. Therefore, high-precision force sensors also have stricter requirements for manufacturing process design standards, and manufacturing costs will increase while cost-effectiveness will decrease. The pressure to reduce project costs is significant.
So we usually advise customers to first evaluate the production accuracy requirements of the product. If the precision requirements for measurement are not so strict, choosing sensors with high clarity will result in unnecessary cost expenditures.

2. Environmental interference:
Most equipment products are placed in the production workshop after production, and a sensor accurate to grams also has strict environmental requirements for the equipment, at least requiring no wind or vibration
The requirement of no wind is that there should be no refrigeration or air conditioning equipment in a sealed environment, and even personnel movement should be reduced. It is difficult to achieve no vibration. The shaking of the product's conveyor belt and robotic arm may affect the equipment and cause unstable sensor readings,
Even if the sensor itself has high accuracy, it may not achieve the expected effect.
The harsh environmental conditions are a major obstacle to the design of equipment itself, so engineers still need to evaluate their specific needs

3 System compatibility:
Sensors with high precision may not be compatible with existing data acquisition systems or other related devices. Or existing data processing software and hardware may not be able to fully utilize the performance of high-precision sensors, resulting in theft and waste of resources.
This may require upgrading the entire measurement system, further increasing the cost and complexity of the project.

In summary, when purchasing Rui Sensing force sensors, various factors such as actual needs, cost, environment, compatibility, etc. should be comprehensively considered to choose sensors with appropriate accuracy, rather than blindly pursuing high accuracy.
