How to check the quality of weighing sensors

The weighing sensor is a very important part of the weighing process and a component that is easily damaged. Factors such as impact, overload, aging, high temperature, corrosion, etc. can all cause damage to the weighing sensor. So, how should we detect the weighing sensor when it has inaccurate measurement?

(1) Physical observation: Observe whether the appearance of the weighing sensor is deformed, cracked, etc.

(2) Measuring resistance: After measuring the input and output resistance of the weighing sensor with a multimeter, if there is a significant difference compared to the instruction manual, it may cause damage to the sensor. If there is no instruction manual, determine by resistance value.

(3) Measuring voltage: Firstly, measure the voltage value between the instrument terminals EXC+and EXC - within the DC voltage range of the multimeter. This is the excitation voltage of the weighing sensor. Under normal circumstances, the excitation voltage (between EXC+and EXC -) is 5-10V. Now, taking DC5V as an example, the output sensitivity of the weighing sensor we are in contact with is generally 2mv/V, which means that the excitation voltage of the weighing sensor output signal per 1V is a linear relationship of 2mv.
