Application of pressure sensors in the compressor industry
The compressor, as the heart of the refrigeration system, is a passive fluid machinery that lifts low-pressure gas into high-pressure gas. It sucks in low-temperature and low-pressure refrigerant gas from the suction pipe, drives the piston to compress it through the operation of the motor, and discharges high-temperature and high-pressure refrigerant gas to the exhaust pipe, providing power for the refrigeration cycle. Thus achieving a refrigeration cycle of compression → condensation (heat release) → expansion → evaporation (heat absorption).
The actual responsibility of the compressor during work is to increase the pressure and raise the suction pressure state to the discharge pressure state. Compression ratio is a technical representation of pressure difference, which means the absolute pressure on the high-pressure side divided by the absolute pressure on the low-pressure side. The calculation of compression ratio requires the use of absolute pressure values. To avoid negative values in the compression ratio calculation, absolute pressure should be used instead of gauge pressure when calculating the pressure ratio. Only by using absolute pressure values can the calculated compression ratio be positive, which is meaningful.
The pressure in general industrial air compressors ranges from 2hp to 10000hp. Air compressors are mainly used in pneumatic control, execution, injection equipment, pneumatic tools, air discharge operations, and other applications. Common air compressors typically operate at a pressure of 125 psi (approximately 8.6 atmospheres) and a gas flow rate ranging from 1 CFM to 15000 CFM. When air containing impurities or pollutants passes through the compressor, it greatly reduces the working efficiency of the air compressor and reduces its service life.
To this end, most manufacturers will install separation/filtration equipment to remove dirt, moisture, and oil from the air. As the number of pollutants adsorbed by the filtration equipment increases, the pressure drop of the filtered gas will become larger and larger. Therefore, it is necessary to use pressure sensors to monitor the pressure drop of gases. When the pressure drop of the gas reaches 10psi, the pressure sensor can trigger the alarm system in the circuit to notify the operator to clean or replace the filtering equipment in a timely manner.
It can be seen that pressure sensors play a crucial role in the compressor industry. Nanjing Wotian Needle has launched specific products for this industry, making it more convenient for industry workers to choose and use
